Indigenous Summer Music Festival Guide 2012

Arigon Starr is an enrolled member of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma. Her mother is a member of the Muscogee Creek Nation of Oklahoma. She grew up around the United States and began her career singing in coffeehouses in Los Angeles. Her music has been described as “Native Americana,” and includes touches of country, rock, folk and punk music. Her songs tells stories from her travels around Indian Country, but also include her diverse interests. “I’m a sponge,” she has said. “I keep my eyes open because I never know what will influence and inspire my creativity.”
