Singer Songwriter Chelsey June an Algonquin Métis woman has been capturing the hearts of audiences with her soulful voice and unique song writing skills. Her Roots Folk story telling music and her ability to covey emotions has left many audiences feeling connected to her lyrics and messages. Chelsey writes songs that come from her heart, songs about life. Chelsey also uses her aboriginal background as influence in her song writing. Chelsey’s songs inspire audiences to dream big and to see brighter days. Chelsey grew up in Ottawa with her mother she spent her childhood surrounded by music. Her teenage years were turbulent that’s when she began to write poetry. In her 20’s Chelsey decided to try song writing. Songs came very naturally and writing them became an instant passion. Chelsey met with many Aboriginal elders and embarked on her personal journey of learning about her roots that’s when she composed and released her first Album “Seize the Day” in 2013.
