Jeremiah Manitopyes, also known as Drezus, began rapping at a young age. Turning poetry into rhymes that fit the beat, he caught on quickly. His first recording session was with the pioneering native hip hop group Warparty. While “Dro” was living in Saskatoon, Stomp formerly of Warparty created his own production group with Jaymak called Rezofficial. “Dro” would soon become Drezus under the new Team Rezofficial imprint. They released 2 critically acclaimed albums under EMI distribution, were nominated for a Juno in 2009 and racked up multiple aboriginal awards, appearing on tv specials, radios spots. The group would part ways mutually for various reasons, but this did not stop Drezus from becoming a solo force.
