JJ Lavallee (Métis) was born & raised in the community of St. Ambroise, Manitoba. JJ started singing at the age of six & by the age of nine had picked up his first guitar. When JJ turned sixteen, he found himself playing regularly with his Uncle Dave Lavallee. This talented family includes such groups as “The Lavallee Tradition” & the “Darren Lavallee Band”. His is a soulful songwriter & accomplished musician on the fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bass, & drums. JJ’s debut album “Jimmy’s Breakdown” captured the 2006 – Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Award for “Best Fiddle CD”. His new 2007 release “Carry On” is a pleasing array of straight up country. A joy to listen to from beginning to end. JJ Lavallee is a long-time crowd favorite & these two CD’s are just the beginning of what is to come from this talented, well-rounded artist.
