In 2010, the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards nominated Bonnie Couchie for Best New Artist and Best Album Cover Design. She also received a nod for Best Album Cover Design by the Aboriginal Music Awards, adding to her nomination for a Toronto Independent Music Award in 2009. Shortly after the release of her debut CD entitled “Feather for an Elephant” 2009, her first single Stupid With You spent several months in the top 40 of the National Aboriginal Music Countdown, making it all the way to number 2. Ahhh…bittersweet.
