White Fire Reed
White Fire Reed is currently Gary Johnston on lead vocals/guitar with Mike Johnston as lead guitar/keyboards. They are rock, classic rock, alternative, ambient, progressive rock, and experimental infused with the special sounds of White Fire Reed. Formed in 1997, they began jam sessions in their basement without having a band name and exchanged creative ideas through music and lyrics. Playing covers of other musical influences inspired them to dig deeper within their roots to form their creative voice and lyricism. White Fire Reed received their first big break when the band submitted a cassette tape to the Canadian Aboriginal Festival in Brantford, ON and were chosen to perform at the Toronto SkyDome in 1998. APTN featured White Fire Reed on their “First Music and Arts Show” in April 2001.
